What is Açaí?

Açaí is a tree found in the Amazon rainforests of Brazil. Açaí is considered a superfruit. Açaí is often soaked to soften the thick outer skin and then mashed into a paste that is purple. Fresh Açaí has a short shelf life and are therefore exported as dried or frozen.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2/3 cup of frozen blueberries (about 100g)
  • 2/3 cup frozen mango (You can substitute with any fruit of your choice)
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 4 Tbsps of NewNew Foods Coconut Açaí powder (about 30g)
  • 1 Tbsp drinking water

 

TOPPINGS (optional)

  • 1 fresh banana
  • fresh strawberries
  • fresh blueberries

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a blender, add the frozen blueberries, frozen mango, frozen banana, Coconut Açaí powder, and drinking water.
  2. Put the blender on puree and blend until smooth. The consistency should be thick and smooth. (You may need to stop and restart the blender to stir or add 1 additional Tbsp of drinking water.)
  3. Pour the mixture into a bowl.
  4. Add the toppings to the bowl. Add the fresh banana (sliced), fresh strawberries (sliced) and fresh blueberries. (You can add any of your favorite fruits, nuts, or seeds as toppings.)

Serve and enjoy!

 

Note: For best results, don’t add too much water.
